I've been working the last few days to find and capture my previous notes on the subject of retirement. I've decided to try sharing them in a simple blog format. I don't have plans to become a web developer or a blogger, but this seemed like the best way to store and share the content.

This is not a perfect collection of my note history. I didn't plan for sharing a collection of notes when I started sending them.

  1. I may not have found them all. My process at the beginning wasn't rigorous. I was finding topics at home, sending them to work, sometimes adding some context at work, then sending them. In some cases I lost the note that was actually sent.

  2. I haven't verified every link. If you happen upon a dead link, send me an email. For example, I fulling expect that some videos I shared may no longer be available.

  3. I did a lot of copy/paste, and it turns out Outlook has some UTF-8 characters that are not allowed in these notes. I'm talking about apostrophes, hyphens, single and double quotes, and few other odd characters. I had to find every one of them and fix them. Not fun, and I may have not done my best work. If you see something strange, it could be the result of my edits.

These notes have an expiration date. The world changes. Corning Incorporated changes. My notes aren't going to age well. You should be careful to verify anything you read here to be sure it's still true, especially around company and government policies.

I'm hosting this website on a server in my house. There are some caveats with this that may affect the reader:

  1. I have limited internet bandwidth. This may change someday.
  2. The server is a hobby. Sometimes it's down while I sort some issue out.
  3. I sometimes break things doing stupid things. See #2.

I built this site using Zola. Zola is a free, open source static website generator. I've purposely kept the site simple. I'm new to Zola so I'm still learning.
