Retirement: 9 Simple Rules for a Better Retirement

First I have a reminder for recent retirees. You may have received a goal sharing check, and maybe a PIP payout, this year. Someone reminded me that those funds are income that can be put into a Roth IRA "one last time". I had assumed my last Roth IRA contribution was in 2024, but I was wrong.

Recently I picked up a Corning retiree and we went to see a play. While waiting in the lobby before the show, we ran into a "Corning couple". I've known these two since 1982 when they were dating. One is still working and I asked the classic question, "when are you retiring?" The answer was one I was very familiar with - "I wanted to retire 10 years ago, but life changes, and I'll be working a few more years." I didn't dig deeper but I can imagine. Financial. Health. Elder care. Other family challenges.

This video is an interesting mix of pre and post retirement advice. Being retired almost 6 months now, it checked many boxes for me, so I thought I'd pass it along.
